Quid Monitor

Reddit Now a Standalone Source Type

Reddit is now a standalone source type in Quid Monitor. Previously categorized under Forums, this new source type will make Reddit content easier to isolate and analyze, allowing you to focus specifically on Reddit posts with greater precision.

You'll see Reddit as a source type in the Sources filter, Domains and Sources widgets, Insight API sources parameter, and other areas of Quid Monitor.

πŸ“ NOTE: This affects all historical Reddit data and Reddit data accumulated moving forward.

❗IMPORTANT: This change has the following impacts on data volume:

  • Volume drop for Forums. You will experience an overall drop in volume for data filtered with the Forums filter since it will no longer include Reddit data. We recommend that you update filters after the October 22 release to prevent a volume drop. If you are making API calls to collect Reddit data, ensure that you add the Reddit source type. For example:

    ...&sourceType=Forums&sourceType=Reddit

  • Potentially breaking change. If you have Boolean topics or themes with sources set to Forums AND domains set to reddit.com, your results will contain 0 posts. To avoid this, update the queries after the October 22 release. For example, if you have the Boolean query:

    sourceType:"Forums" AND domains:"reddit.com"

    We recommend updating it to:

    sourceType:"Reddit"
